Thank you to our 2016 Camp Sponsors for making a difference in the lives of our Camp Escapades campers and volunteers! Click here to view our Camp Sponsors.

Camp Escapades is an innovative two-week summer day camp for children with special needs and developmental delays who are 5 to 14 years of age. Our highly trained multidisciplinary camp team includes three PTN occupational therapists with numerous years of camp experience who oversee programming, staff and volunteers. Occupational, physical or speech therapists consult with every group while all groups are staffed with paraprofessional educators and one-on-one teen volunteers who are the child's "buddy" throughout the week.

We are so thankful for our friends at Rolling Hills Country Day School who are wonderful hosts for our campers, families, volunteers and staff. Although our camps are separate, we integrate both camps for special events, which allows for a unique experience for our campers to interact with typically developing children.

Meet our Camp Coordinators

Karen Rodriguez, MS, OTR/L, Senior Coordinator of Campers
Karen, a lifelong native of Torrance, decided to go back to school after raising her three children and teaching preschool for twelve years. She received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2009. Karen completed her required volunteer hours for OT school at Camp Escapades in 2006 as a one-to-one camper buddy. Little did she know that years later, she would not only work at Pediatric Therapy Network, but she would be the Senior Camp Coordinator and Coordinator of Campers for Camp Escapades! Working with children is her passion!

Merry Lee, OTD, OTR/L, Coordinator of Staff and Activities
Merry received her Masters of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy in 2009 and her Occupational Therapy Doctorate in 2010 from the University of Southern California. She is originally from San Francisco and moved down to the LA region for occupational therapy school and enjoyed the weather so much that she decided to stay. She has been a camp leader for the Orange Octopus group for the past two years and is excited for her new role at Camp Escapades. In addition to working with children and families in the Southern California area, she also enjoys traveling to other countries to provide occupational therapy services with children and schools/universities.

Emily Siren, MOT, OTR/L, Coordinator of Volunteers
Emily received her Masters of Occupational Therapy degree from Tennessee State University in 2011. She is originally from Franklin, Tennessee and relocated to Southern California during her graduate fieldwork rotations, one of which was at PTN! She has been a group leader for the Ocean Blue Whales for four years and is excited to continue working specifically with the amazing volunteers at Camp Escapades. In addition to working as a school-based occupational therapist, Emily is passionate about working with OT graduate students and is the OT Fieldwork Coordinator at PTN.
