Treating ASD Using Structured TEACCHing and Other Evidence-based Interventions by Michele Villalobos, PhD. on May 21, 2016
This course covered the use of evidence based interventions for working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) with a primary focus on Structured TEACCHing and behavior management. Structured TEACCHing is based on understanding the learning characteristics of individuals with autism and the use of visual supports to promote meaning and independence. Other evidence based interventions, such as anxiety reduction approaches, parent child interaction therapy, occupational therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy will be discussed.
