Expand Competency in Sensory Integration!

Attend a Unique Training Program Originated Dr. A. Jean Ayres, Ph.D., OTR

For more than 25 years, the University of Southern California Division of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy has offered an intensive training pro­gram in sensory integration, originated by Dr. A. Jean Ayres, Ph.D, OTR, FAOTA. This world-renowned training program held at Pediatric Therapy Network in Torrance, California, provides small groups of occupational, physical and speech therapists graduate-level training in the theory and intervention strategies of Ayres Sensory Integration®. In addition, this program includes the certification needed to ad­minister and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). The OT610/SI610 program is the only one of its kind in the world and since its inception in 1977, therapists from more than 30 countries have participated in this unique ex­perience.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

  • Weekly seminars presented by some of the top researchers and clinicians in sensory integration, including Dr. Erna Imperatore Blanche, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA; Zoe Mailloux, MA, OTR/L, FAOTA; Susanne Smith Roley, MA, OTR/L, FAOTA; Gina Geppert Coleman, MA, OTR/L; Shay McAtee, MA, OTR/L; Stefanie Bodison, OTD, OTR/L; Vivian Hsu, MA, CCC-SLP; and Joan Jacobs, PT, PCS.
  • Mentorship by master clinicians during direct treatment of children with sensory-integrative disorders and other neurological and developmental disabilities.
  • Training in the administration and interpretation of the SIPT, and subsequent cer­tification in the Sensory Integration Certification Program sponsored by USC/WPS.
  • Therapists who have already completed certification in sensory integration have the opportunity to receive mentorship and training in research, program development, private-practice administration or teaching.
